Ouch!

So, last night we had our first official oops! with the big boy bed. About 4:00 this morning Cole let out a scream and started crying. Scott and I rushed down there to find him sitting on his floor by the foot of his bed, where he had fallen out. He went back to sleep pretty quickly with Scott snuggling him, and this morning I asked what had happened. His explanation was that he was trying to get a binky (pacifier) that had fallen and then he got back into bed. I was pretty sure that he was still tired, and maybe wasn't even aware of the fact that he had fallen out. I was wrong though. When we were getting ready to leave, Scott saw a binky hidden down between the mattress and the wooden bed frame right where he fell, poor kiddo!

Big Boy Bed

Well, it is official, Cole is definitely a big boy now. Last night he slept in his big boy bed for the very first time. He has been really excited to do this, but we were still a little nervous about how he would sleep. Apparently we had nothing to worry about because he slept the whole night through with no issues. I must be honest that I was kinda sad last night when I walked down the stairs from our bedroom and I looked in his old room and there was no one sleeping in the bed. Hard to believe that he is already this big. p.s. Since he still uses his binky at night, he thought that it was pretty cool that the railing has a special "binky pocket" built in.

Bowling!

For Lanie's (my niece) birthday this year, she wanted a bowling party. Cole was very excited that he got to go, and he even got to do some bowling. These are a couple of pics of him doing his best to get the ball down the lane, though sometimes he had to get a little help from daddy. There was a little boy his age there from his school whose sister came to the party, so he even had a bowling buddy!

First Field Trip!

So now that Cole is in preschool, he gets to start going on field trips. The most important thing about that, is that he gets to ride on a REAL SCHOOL BUS! He absolutely loves school buses, so when we went to the pumpkin patch last week, he was on cloud nine that he got ride like all of the other big kiddos! We had a lot of fun, and I was so glad that I got to go and share the day with him

An oldie but a goodie...

So....I found this picture the other day when I was looking at old pics on my computer. I cannot believe how many curls he used to have, and I thought that this was too cute so I had to post it.

A visit from Brockylicious

A couple of weeks ago my sister and her husband headed to Chicago for the U2 concert. Since this was obviously an adults only trip, my nieces headed to my parent's house, and Brock came to spend the night with us. Cole had such a fun time playing with Brock, and it was great practice for being a wonderful big brother!

American Idol here we come!

Here is a little video of Cole singing along with his new favorite book. He may not be ready for American Idol just yet, but we think that he does a pretty darn good job!

Favorite friend

This picture was too cute to leave off the blog. This is Cole's favorite "friend" that he sleeps with every night, his kitty.

New Project Manager

Scott and I built some shelves in our garage a couple of weeks ago and Cole was such a big help! This is him talking on his cell phone in the middle of the project. Thank goodness he was there!!!!

Snuggle bugs!

Here is a quick pic that Cole and I took of ourselves snuggling in bed one morning when we were missing daddy while he was on his float trip.

Choo-Choo!!!

The weekend of July 24-26 Scott headed to St Louis for a float trip with some friends, so Cole and mommy were flying solo for the weekend. We did lots of fun stuff, and on Saturday night we went down the the Railroad Cafe with our friends Brie and Jax. The restaurant is at Crown Center, and across the street are some fountains that kids like to play in when it gets hot so Brie and I brought the boy's swim trunks along. They had such a great time running and playing in the water, and there were TONS of other kids there playing. After they were done and we got them all dried off and back in regular clothes, we all got dessert at Sheridan's. It was a great night and we had lots of fun with our friends!

T-Rex with Aunt B! (July 10-still behind)

Scott's little sister came to stay with us for the night and we all headed out to T-Rex for dinner. We weren't sure how Cole would react, but he LOVED it!!! We let him make a dinosaur, and he named it Rex. Pretty clever, huh? He thought that it was all pretty cool, and he had a great time with Aunt B!

4th of July!

So I am a little behind on the blogging, but here are a few pics from 4th of July weekend. I have more from my other camera, but I will have to add them later. Cole had a very busy weekend for the 4th, between having friends over, going to Nana & Papa's and heading to Connor & Ashlin's for a bar-b-que.

We're cruisin' now!

So a couple of weeks ago some friends came by and let Cole drive their little Barbie Jeep, and he LOVED IT!!!! He had so much fun that we decided he just NEEDED something of his own. Here is a little video of Cole and his friend Jaxson cruising around in his new F150.

Swimming!

So......my sister has a 12 foot inflatable pool that we filled up on Sunday when we thought that we would be hosting the Father's Day BBQ. We figured that since we had already used all of the water to fill it, we might as well get a little use out of it, especially since it has been SOOOOOO hot these past few days. These are a couple of pics of Cole swimming with his friend Jax the other night, it was pretty funny!

Father's Day

On Sunday we had planned to have a little BBQ at our house for Father's Day, but in the middle of the afternoon we unexpectedly lost all power. Kinda crazy, and kind of a bummer not only because of the BBQ, but also because it was about 95 yesterday and no air conditioning made it REALLY hot. Thankfully we were able to move the get together to my parent's house, and we still got the chance to celebrate all the Father's!

First Royals Game

This past weekend Scott's mom came to town for a visit and we all went to the Royals/Cardinals game on Saturday. It was Cole's first baseball game, and we think that he liked it, but it was sooooooo hot! At one point, the poor little dude actually took his shirt off, lol. He made it through 4 1/2 innings before he insisted that it was time to go, and with the heat, we were all pretty happy to oblige. Our seats were great, and they happened to be right next to the tunnel where Slugger comes out, so Cole and daddy even got to take a picture with him!

Thomas the Train!

Last weekend we took Cole to Baldwin City, KS to see Thomas the Train. He LOVED it, and we had such a great time playing with trains, sliding, seeing a magician and of course... taking a ride on a REAL train!

We're putting him to work...

Last night Scott was trying to fix some nails that had popped up out of our deck floor, and of course Cole wanted to help. He went down to his tool bench and grabbed his hammer and came out to pound some nails too. At the end you can hear him get upset because his isn't as loud as Scott's, lol.

Brock Daniel Barrows

My older sister Terra had her baby last week, and he is such a handsome little guy! He was born May 28th at 5:45 p.m. and was 8 lbs 12 ozs and 21 inches long. Welcome baby Brock!
